Artifact: Weebly Blog
Reflection:
The Weebly Blog is my entire portfolio for the specialist of instructional program. The blog showcases multiples assignments, vision and diversity statements, resume and my reflections after the completion of each ITEC class. The blog also includes all reflections for the standards that were targeted through the completion of each class of the program and mastered as I complete numerous assignments.
The artifact that demonstrates the mastery to Standard 6.2 is my Weebly Blog. The blog is a virtual portfolio that I have worked on throughout this program. This blog serves as a reflective journal of my course work. It also includes important topics such as equitable access, creating and editing videos, technology integration, internet safety, productivity tools, assessment tools, podcasting, and much more. Many hours of reflection and hard work went into creating this artifact. This artifact demonstrates mastery of the standard in which it is placed because it truly showcases how I routinely reflected on knowledge learned. It also shows that I evaluated various digital tools that have been used in my own classroom. The videos found in the artifact exemplifies my ability to effectively model technology enhancing learning experiences. Overall, the blog provides an overview of the most significant topics and resources encountered during this program.
The artifact also demonstrates the mastery of standard 6.2 because it showcases the completion of multiples assignments that were used to effectively model and facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences. For example, the blog includes a presentation for a professional development session where the grade level in my school leaved how to use the online tool Nearpod. The teachers also learned how to implement this helpful digital resource to increase engagement in students.
I learned that reflecting is such a valuable tool to use professionally and personally. I also learned that blogging is a great way to reflect on various topics. While compiling this artifact, I learned how to integrate engaging media to my blog. The blog also helped me evaluate my professional practice and improve my ability to facilitate others in technology-enhanced learning experiences. This artifact helped me understand the importance of reflection and how it is an on-going process that never ends in teaching. If I could do this artifact over, I would be more precise in my blog during the first portion of the program. I would also complete more of the work that was required to have the blog completed. Although, I stayed consistent in the beginning of the program, it became harder to keep the blog up to date in throughout the middle of the program.
The work that went into creating the artifact impacted my learning as a student. This blog has truly inspired me to want to pursue a personal and professional blog. For personal purposes, I plan on pursing the creation of a blog where I can share my love and passion for cooking. It has also inspired me to be more active in social media for teaching purposes to share my knowledge with other teachers. I truly did not view blogs as a way of communicating and reflecting, but I now understand how powerful this entity could become. The impact could be assessed by simply viewing the sophisticated blogging methods and reflections found in the artifact.
