Introduction Welcome! My name is Angelica Garcia, and I am in the Ed.S Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program in the Summer of 2018 and will graduate in Winter 2019. My prior education includes graduating from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2012. I later returned to Kennesaw State to obtain a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education with a gifted endorsement in 2015.
My teaching career began as a Kindergarten professional, but I later moved into EIP, and 3rd grade classroom teacher. I currently teach ESOL at Dug Gap Elementary in Whitfield County where I first began as a fourth grade teacher for two years. KSU's reputation in instructional technology led me to the Specialist Degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology. Being an alumnae of Kennesaw State and knowing its strong field in education also helped me decide to further my education. My passion for integrating technology in my classroom also pushed me to pursue an Ed. S in instructional technology. My ultimate goal is to obtain a job as a technology coach. I plan on sharing my learned knowledge in this field with students and educators. Throughout the program, my passion for instructional technology increased and helped me learn of different strategies and tools that could be easily implemented in my classroom. Various of the course work helped me understand the role of an instructional technology coach. Some of the course work includes: creation of a Webquest, coaching sessions, and the numerous field experiences The purpose of this portfolio is to demonstrate insight and evidence of my professional growth and experiences that have helped me attain the necessary skills to be an effective technology facilitator.
